Topic: ISO A Paper SettingsPosted: 07 October 2008 at 9:51am |

It was mentioned in a MacUser UK review that Blow Up 2 only provides American paper sizes and not European sizes. So in order to accommodate some of our European friends, here are some settings for ISO A series paper sizes. The really cool thing about these paper sizes is that each successive paper size in the series is half the size of the previous one so if you fold the larger paper in half it will be the same size as the smaller one. See this link for more info:
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-paper.html To load these settings just click to open. Our settings router will automatically import them into the right spot on your computer. The next time you run Blow Up 2, they will appear in your user settings tab under the folder "ISO A Series." The A series papers are arranged in decreasing size (A0 is the largest). Please see the next post (below) for a zip file with all of them. A0: 20081007_142852_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_142947_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143005_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143022_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s A1: 20081007_143111_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143122_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143156_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143209_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s A2: 20081007_143405_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143416_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143425_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143435_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s A3: 20081007_143500_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143511_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143521_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143529_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s A4: 20081007_143617_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143625_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143633_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143641_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s A5: 20081007_143834_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143842_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143850_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s 20081007_143857_ISO_A_Series__A.f1s Note, these sizes were saved in mm but it will show the size in whatever units you have set as the default in Photoshop. Enjoy! Tom PS- Thanks to Steve Caplin for suggesting European paper sizes. Edited by TomW - 16 October 2008 at 5:19am |

Thank you for these, although this was a big oversight.
The only problem is, it is very time consuming downloading all these separate links, AND the amalgamated ZIP file takes me to a 404 not found. Instead of loading the links in a new window, just leave them as straight download links, that will save the site automatically opening a multitude of new windows, which you then have to close. |

No problem. I had considered adding more international settings to begin with but since we are located in the US it is hard to get an accurate idea of what sizes are common in Europe or Asia. There are so many different paper sizes and standards out there that it can be confusing knowing which are actually used. I asked a German person and he mentioned that all the sizes you would typically order from a photo lab would be in centimeters but when I looked at Photo labs in the UK, they often sold in either inches or centimeters.
In any case, if there are any other sizes which you would like to see feel free to make requests in this forum. I may not be able to accommodate all requests but at least we will have a better understanding of what our customers need. Thanks, Tom |
